I bought a Groupon for a spray tan. I couldn’t find the place first of all, because it’s in a weird unmarked office building. When I called, the woman told me I was too late for the appointment, so they were going to charge me the full amount of the Groupon ($19) and mark it used. I had also purchased a $98 Groupon for services from them, and told them if they did that I was going to cancel all future services. She talked to a manager, called me back, and said I could go ahead and cancel everything because they weren’t going to make an exception on their policy. I understand why the policy is in place, but I’m a new customer who was planning on spending a lot of money there. I HATE businesses who choose policy over customer service because of “the principle.” To be that black and white in the service industry is ridiculous. If I was a repeat offender of no-showing appointments, okay. But a brand new customer who has never been there, couldn’t find the place, and had already purchased services worth 5 times the amount of the service I was late for? Ridiculous.
